Professor Robert Gilchrist is a NHMRC Investigator and Director of Research at the Discipline of Women’s Health, at the University of New South Wales Sydney, Australia. He is an ovarian and oocyte biologist conducting discovery and applied research. He investigates oocyte-somatic cell interactions as a determinant of subsequent embryonic development. He also manages an applied research program with the objectives of improving oocyte in vitro maturation (IVM) technologies in animals and women. Dr Gilchrist also studies new biomarkers of oocyte quality. He has published 175 peer-reviewed papers/reviews/chapters and has an H-index of 62 with >12,700 citations [Scopus].
