Paul is Professor of Reproductive Biology at the South Australian Research & Development Institute (SARDI), an Affiliate Professor at University of Adelaide and a former Professor at Monash University. A reproductive biologist with research focus on assisted reproductive technologies, stem cell biology, biotechnology and translation of research to both humans and livestock. He leads livestock research at SARDI, and has attracted >$20.0 million funding, >90 publications and 7 granted and provisional patents. He is Senior Editor for three books on Stem Cells, Nuclear Transfer and Gene Editing for Humana Press NY. Mentoring bright young students was a highlight of his time in academia, supervising 11 PhDs and 14 Graduates, resulting in >90 publications and featuring in Nature (2003)! During this time, he was fortunate to also be appointed to the NHMRC Cellular Therapies Advisory Committee (CTAC); Scientific Advisory Panel, Australian Bone Marrow Donor Registry; and Panel Chair Australia-India Strategic Research Fund (AISRF) and Deutsche Forschungs gemeinschaft - Germany.
