Noriko Makita, MD, PhD
Dr. Noriko Makita is an Associate Professor in the Department of Nephrology and Endocrinology at the University of Tokyo, Japan. She is a clinician-scientist specializing in endocrinology, with a particular interest in calcium and phosphate metabolism, parathyroid disorders, and the molecular mechanisms of endocrine diseases.
Her research focuses on the calcium-sensing receptor (CaSR) and its role in human disease. In particular, her work has identified biased CaSR autoantibodies in patients with acquired hypocalciuric hypercalcemia, providing new insights into receptor signaling and autoimmunity.
She is also actively involved in medical education and professional activities within the Japan Endocrine Society.
