Dr Javad Anjom Shoae is a postdoctoral research fellow and clinical nutritionist, specialising in nutritional science, gastrointestinal and metabolic health, with a focus on obesity and type 2 diabetes. His research integrates two key themes: (i) acute mechanistic trials investigating gut–nutrient interactions, (ii) long-term interventions evaluating the effects of the gut-based therapies (e.g. semaglutide) on gut functions (gastric emptying and hormone secretion) and the consequent metabolic and cardiovascular responses.
